Web Development with Django

Go from Python basics to a working, deployed web application. Over eight training days we build a real Django project together, so you leave with a portfolio-ready app and the skills to keep building.

Format

8 training days across 4 weeks (Saturdays & Sundays over four weekends), 6 hours per day.

Daily schedule

Six hours of training each day, with a lunch break and two short breaks:

• 09:00 – 10:30 — Session 1
• 10:30 – 10:45 — Short break
• 10:45 – 12:15 — Session 2
• 12:15 – 13:15 — Lunch break
• 13:15 – 14:45 — Session 3
• 14:45 – 15:00 — Short break
• 15:00 – 16:30 — Hands-on lab & wrap-up

Day-by-day curriculum

• Day 1 — Sat, Feb 06: Web & Python refresher — how the web works, virtual environments, pip
• Day 2 — Sun, Feb 07: Django setup — projects, apps, the development server, settings
• Day 3 — Sat, Feb 13: Models & the ORM — models, migrations, and the admin site
• Day 4 — Sun, Feb 14: Views & URLs — function views, URL routing, requests and responses
• Day 5 — Sat, Feb 20: Templates & static files — the template language, layouts, CSS and images
• Day 6 — Sun, Feb 21: Forms & CRUD — forms, validation, create / read / update / delete
• Day 7 — Sat, Feb 27: Auth & sessions — users, login and logout, permissions
• Day 8 — Sun, Feb 28: Deploy & capstone — deployment basics, polishing and shipping your app
