Building APIs with Flask

Design and ship your own web API. Over eight training days we cover routing, databases, authentication, and testing, culminating in a fully working REST API you can proudly put on your CV.

Format

8 training days across 4 weeks (Saturdays & Sundays over four weekends), 6 hours per day.

Daily schedule

Six hours of training each day, with a lunch break and two short breaks:

• 09:00 – 10:30 — Session 1
• 10:30 – 10:45 — Short break
• 10:45 – 12:15 — Session 2
• 12:15 – 13:15 — Lunch break
• 13:15 – 14:45 — Session 3
• 14:45 – 15:00 — Short break
• 15:00 – 16:30 — Hands-on lab & wrap-up

• Day 1 — Sat, Mar 06: HTTP & Flask basics — routes, requests, responses, and JSON
• Day 2 — Sun, Mar 07: Project structure — blueprints, configuration, virtual environments
• Day 3 — Sat, Mar 13: Databases — SQLAlchemy models and migrations
• Day 4 — Sun, Mar 14: CRUD endpoints — building REST resources
• Day 5 — Sat, Mar 20: Validation & errors — input validation, status codes, error handling
• Day 6 — Sun, Mar 21: Authentication — tokens and protecting routes
• Day 7 — Sat, Mar 27: Testing & docs — pytest and documenting your API
• Day 8 — Sun, Mar 28: Deploy & capstone — deployment and shipping your REST API
